Privacy Policy

Overview

He Feeds Dinosaurs ("we", "us", "our") operates the website hefeedsdinosaurs.com. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any information collected through this site. The services below help operate the site and measure our marketing. Advertising measurement preferences are available at the bottom of selected public pages and on this privacy page.

Information We Collect

We collect minimal information to operate the site:

  • Anonymous visitor data: When you visit the site, we generate a random identifier stored in your browser's local storage. This is not linked to your identity. We use it to understand general traffic patterns such as which pages are visited and how readers navigate the book.
  • Reading progress: If you read the book on this site, we track your scroll position and which sections you view. This data is anonymous and helps us understand how readers engage with the content.
  • Account information: If you create an account (by invitation only), we collect your name, email address, and an encrypted password. This is used solely for authentication and site access.
  • Payment information: Purchases are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your credit card number or payment details. Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle your payment data.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Stripe: For payment processing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Google AdSense: May display advertisements and use cookies to serve ads based on your browsing activity. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram): We use the Meta pixel to measure visits to our home, about, reviews, and press pages, and outbound Amazon book-link clicks from those pages. A link click is not recorded as a purchase. Meta receives eligible page and referring addresses, technical browser and network information, and cookie or advertising identifiers. Meta may associate this activity with a Meta account and use it under Meta’s Privacy Policy. Our custom click event contains only the destination domain. We do not send form contents, account details, search text, or health information as event fields. Automatic event collection and advanced matching are disabled. Other pages, unrecognized URL parameters, fragments, and potentially private referring addresses are excluded. These events do not let us observe your browsing after you leave this site.

Cookies & Local Storage

This site uses browser local storage to maintain your anonymous visitor identifier, reading preferences, and authentication tokens if you have an account. Third-party services (such as Google AdSense) may set their own cookies. You can clear local storage and cookies at any time through your browser settings.

For US visitors, Meta measurement runs on eligible pages without an arrival prompt unless you turn it off. Elsewhere, or when we cannot determine eligibility, it stays off until you enable it. Our hosting service supplies a country-based eligibility result without setting a cookie or storing a choice. You can disable or enable measurement using Advertising preferences at the bottom of those pages or the controls below. We remember your choice in this browser and honor supported Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. If saved preferences cannot be read, Meta stays off unless you enable it for the current page. Disabling stops future pixel events and removes our Meta measurement cookies; it cannot recall information already sent. These controls do not change the other services described above or affect access to the site.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe's secure infrastructure.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and any associated data at any time by contacting us. Since anonymous visitor data is not linked to your identity, it cannot be individually retrieved or deleted.

Contact Information

We do not sell contact lists.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
